Ohio Pork + Le Creuset Giveaway

{by alicia} Though it seems all we do is flit around town eating at restaurants; we actually spend a lot of time cooking at home. So when the Ohio Pork Council reached out and asked we share our favorite recipe involving “the other white meat,” it was no-brainer! With this in mind (time for the disclaimer), please note that while this post is sponsored by OhioPork.org; all opinions are my own.

I cook healthy meals to counterbalance all the ridiculous (but delicious) things we consume while out and about (exhibit A and B), so I always go for lean cuts of meat like pork loin. I especially like cooking with pork roast because it is super easy to cook, versatile, and there are always tons of leftovers (as will be demonstrated below).

First up, Honeyed Applesauce Pork Loin Roast. This recipe is the combination of a Taste of Home idea I stumbled on years ago with the addition of a tangy honey sauce that I freaking LOVE from the Official Game of Thrones Cookbook. It’s as simple as throwing things in a crock pot and jazzing up with the sauce at the end.

Yoga at Columbus Commons + Giveaway

{by alexis} Isn’t summer the most wonderful? The skies are blue, the sun is warm, and even the rainstorms are moody and romantic! But the best part is that you can spend all the long hours of daylight out of doors, enjoying Columbus. In particular, we’re fond of Columbus Commons –– not only is the green space in the middle of downtown gorgeous, but they’ve got a schedule packed with all kinds of summer fun to keep you busy even when you’re out of ideas. We were invited to check out a handful, and popped downtown after work for a concert, snacks, and an hour-long FREE yoga class! Check out all our fun! Oh, and be sure to enter our giveaway so that you can have your own fun!

Ohio State Fair
It’s fair time, folks! The Ohio State Fair is like hot, fried, and livestock-scented Christmas in July! This year, we were asked to go together, sample a few snacks, ride a few coasters, and generally enjoy the atmosphere, so we gladly picked the first Saturday and made it happen. Keep reading for some of the best fair food in the Midwest! (more…)
