Roaming and eating our way through Columbus and beyond.

Six Favorite Spots in German Village + Giveaway

German Village is arguably Columbus’ most charming neighborhood.

We’ve spent many afternoons here as a duo, and Alexis even spent a few years nestled into a brick condo somewhere between Pistacia Vera and Lindey’s. To celebrate the neighborhood, we’ve teamed up with Nakturnal on behalf of HER Realty, to bring you some of our favorite spots in German Village, and give you a chance to win a $25 gift card to Pistacia Vera!

Lindey’s

We’ve said it before, but Lindey’s is the bomb for brunch in German Village. We were recently back celebrating a birthday, and we had the great pleasure of sampling the lemon ricotta pancakes. YOU GUYS. These bad boys are in the running for the most wonderful and unexpected brunch dish of all time. Go for the ambiance, and stay for the pancakes.

Curio

Curio Bar German Village

Do you like pretending you’re in a speakeasy while eating pizza and sipping inventive cocktails? US TOO. This bar is snug and dimly lit with loads of eclectic decor. You’ll have to wait for a table on busy nights, but it’s so worth it for the fun drinks and bonus pizza you can order from next door at Harvest!

Schmidt’s

Home to the Bahama Mama and the epic Autobahn buffet, Schmidt’s is not only a personal favorite of Wander & Whine, but it is a Columbus institution. If you don’t believe us, just ask any of the people queued around the block, waiting for their shot a beer stein fit for a king.

Pistacia Vera

Pistacia VeraObsessed is putting it lightly. We cannot get enough of the pastries from Pistacia Vera. Alexis adores the almond croissant, and we both go crazy for the macarons. It’s the perfect spot to set up with a cup of coffee, a good book, and a delicious snack. Plus, the marble tables and wall of windows make it any Instagrammer’s dream.

Winan’s Chocolates + Coffee

We’re huge fans of Winan’s Chocolates + Coffee, and the German Village location is just as glorious as its Dublin counterpart. Stop in for a pick-me-up or take part in one of their coffee and chocolate pairings.winan's german village

Shakespeare in the Park at Schiller

Summer in the Village is charming on any evening, but doubly so when The Actors’ Theater turns on the lights and performs right in the center of Schiller Park. You can bring your own snacks, wine, and even your dog! Simply pull up a chair, pop a bottle to the setting sun, and absorb a little culture.
