Try the World

Try the World subscription box{by alicia} One of my favorite travel activities is trying as much of the local cuisine as possible. I love this tangible insight into a culture, and it’s fun eating like the residents do. In this spirit, I was thrilled to sample Try the World*, a subscription box service that sends food from all over the world to your doorstep. Seeing that I don’t have enough vacation days to travel every single month; letting my taste buds go on a journey was a worthy alternative.

The box I received was a collaboration between Try the World and Michelin, which made for an eclectic and gourmet holiday box. Chef Thomas Raquel of Le Bernardin curated the box and included his own recipes for my very own three star experience.

-Truffle Sauce from Italy (Tartufata)
-Pain D’epices Baking Mix from France (Marlette)
-Pineapple Cake from Taiwan (En Luen)
-Tea from the United Kingdom (Teatonics)
-Toffee from South Africa (Darling Sweet)
-Gingersnaps from Sweden (Nyakers)
-Date Spread from Israel (Yoffi)
-Shortbread from Canada (Sprucewood Handmade Cookie Co.)

Everything I tried was stellar, especially the pineapple cakes, date spread, and gingersnaps (I have a sugar addition, halp). These would make a perfect gift for the foodie or traveler in your life–or why not yourself? You deserve it. The box arrived packaged adorably, and it was such fun sampling! I would never have known these pineapple cakes existed if it weren’t for this box, and now I’m over here hunting them down to have on the regular.

Signature Boxes start at $29 and include 7-8 curated, gourmet foods, including ingredients, drinks, and snacks, from a new country every month. There’s also the Snack Box (starts at $15) and you can request five or 10 snacks delivered to your doorstep each month. Plenty of ways to “try the world,” so to speak.

If you’re interested in a foodie adventure click here for subscription options, and use promo code NEWYEAR25 for 25% off any gifts! This month’s theme is Greece, and the signature box is curated by Chef Diane Kochilas. She’ll whisk you away to the Mediterranean with a herbaceous Tzatziki mix, delicious stuffed vine leaves from Palirria, and more.

Disclosure: While the box was given to me for free; all opinions are my own.
